Dr. James Thomas, M.D.

James Thomas is a laryngologist in Portland, OR. His current involvement with transgender patients is as a surgical specialist of the voice. He has been developing several surgical procedures to correct pitch and resonance problems with the voice. He has been developing the Feminization Laryngoplasty or FemLar over the past 6 years and has presented some preliminary results at previous meetings. He has also worked on Thyrohyoid elevation to alter resonance and the appearance of the neck profile and has been tuning the vocal cords with the Pulsed Dye Laser.
